This was so long ago that Nosaj was billed above Dillon Francis.
While all the artists featured in this concert were electronic-based musicians, their aesthetics are often described as gritty or dark, so I tried to reflect both characteristics by combining flashy lights and grunge. I cut the type out of a black poster board, propped it up, and took a long-exposure photograph of it while moving around behind the board with a flashlight (original photo below). The result was a flashy, bright effect tempered by a rough, raw flavor. I could have simulated that light effect on Photoshop, but the organic, rough edges of the cutouts would have been tedious to reproduce digitally. The glitchy overlay was produced by fellow D|MA student and collaborator on the project, Anna Reutinger.
